Not so close to BA I'm sure, local port waters appear quite dingy.
What can anyone recommend for the closest area to take a dip in the sea? Easy to get to.
I'd think eventually the waters would have to clear up well enough.
Public transport required.
I'm aware of the river, but would prefer sea water.

Made it out to Mar del Plata but that's way too far for just a day dip.
A ferry to Uruguay would be too costly just for a day dip.
Something like a 5 peso train ride? is more like it.

Thanks.

The closest ocean beach is probably san clemente. Thats pretty far away for a "day dip"

Not exactly the sea, but a lot of people swim in the waters around Tigre. I was dubious at first but survived without getting any illness. I took the public boat to a small island, altough even that is a 90 minute boat ride.

Options include Tigre--if you go at least 45 minutes away from the port the water is pretty clean, especially up the smaller streams.
Pools.
Everything else is going to be at least a 50 peso bus ride.
Entre rios has some nice river front, but I heard it is getting polluted do the new paper mills.
