Why Argentine Airline Trade Unionists Boycotted the Agreement with Pfizer - Written by Luis Gasulla and Federico Teijeiro
The true story of the trips to China and Russia, and the role of Pablo Biró.
Several sources of Aerolineas Argentinas assured that, part of the lack of agreement with Pfizer, came from the pressure exerted by the National government so that the flag airline, in conjunction with the Airline Pilots Association (APLA) - in line with Kirchnerism - was in charge of bringing vaccines to the country and distributing vaccines to the provinces.
It was not the only reason why the Argentine government ended up closing negotiations with Vladimir Putin over the Russian vaccine, but it was essential for Pfizer to begin to tire of talking with the Argentine Ministry of Health....
One of the most pathetic and Argentine reasons ever invented. How can an airline union seriously be allowed to have anything to do with public health policy at a time of national emergency? This should be considered a criminal act, if true.

The ANMAT rushes the approval of the AstraZeneca vaccine
The Government is about to announce the news it intended before the end of the year. During these hours, the details are being rushed so that between tomorrow and Tuesday the National Administration of Drugs, Food and Medical Technology (ANMAT) approves, for a year and in the framework of a pandemic emergency, the vaccine that the AstraZeneca laboratory developed and the University of Oxford, whose serum is produced in the country by mAbxience, one of the companies of Hugo Sigman's Insud Group....
....The Government already signed an agreement with AstraZeneca some time ago and according to what was reported, the delivery of 22 million vaccines was negotiated, that is, for eleven million Argentines. As LA NACION learned, the Banco Nación already paid an advance of eleven million dollars to ensure the stock.

But beyond approval, nothing will be immediate. Although Sigman already produces the vaccine in its plants, the agreement with the English laboratory only reserved for its Argentine counterpart the production of the asset in the country. The rest will be completed in Mexico. That is why the laboratory insists that between February and March it will only be available in Argentine territory to begin mass vaccination....

....The approval of the ANMAT, surely, will be the first in Latin America, although other similar procedures in important regulators of the world are expected in the next few hours. Sources familiar with the operation clarify that neither AstraZeneca nor Insud will participate in any vaccination system, but that the only client will be the State and not private vaccination facilities....

Luis Gasulla is a reputable independent investigative reporter whose articles have been printed in La Nacion and other publications.

Luis Gasulla, a journalist, assured that "the Kirchnerism is obsessed with knowing our sources of information", and denounced that "it is impressive what has been stolen from Argentina, but the obsession is against journalism. They kill the messenger." In addition, he stressed that "the fanatic will continue to believe that there was no corruption in Argentina."

On the other hand, I have stressed that "nowadays voices can be covered up, but a tweeter or an instagramer will emerge", and explained that "I am not a macrista. I try to be as independent as possible, but it is a nickname that they installed on me ". Finally, I have criticized Alberto Fernández "because management is lacking. Surely, poverty in the coming months will reach more than half of Argentines."

....This is how you read and heard a lot of people talk about aviation - this particular flight as a start, but with a general idea as a finish line - without much idea of how things work. Names are not required. There are examples enough...Let's take the concepts and go by parts.....
1. The A330-200 does not arrive
I have seen more than one say that the declared range of the Airbus A330-200 is less than the distance between Ezeiza and Moscow.
In a hasty vision and that does not take into account a fundamental detail, it is entirely true. We will return to that detail in a moment.
First, the evidence:....

Could anyone really believe that they were capable of keeping the vaccine at -78c? Or that Pfizer would train and support a different distributor in every country?

The Chinese laboratory Sinopharm announced that its vaccine against covid-19 is 79% effective
Currently, four vaccines developed in China have reached phase 3 of clinical trials - two from Sinopharm, one from Sinovac and another from CanSino Biologics
A more complex and informative offering of information on China vaccines than the NYT article
The Chinese CDC director said that Chinese vaccine is pretty bad, far from " needed effective level".
Hong Kong gov bought vaccines from China and US, initially announced that HK citizen do not have a choice, whatever they are given will be the one.
Most HK people said they would not take it if there is no choice, later HK gov changed their tone.

Do you take this right from Pfizer flyers?

China's vaccines for COVID-19 are also very effective, Gao Fu, director of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), said in an online seminar on Thursday.

Did anyone really believe Argentina wouldn't find a way to fuck things up, lay blame on others and create as much spin and turn the whole thing into a political spectacle determined to shout down the evil west. The funniest thing is how they are getting angry at companies for wanting money they loaned to the country returned - as if thats unreasonable.

Here's the latest from Guille Aquino and Lu Iacono. There are some howlingly funny jokes, and many clever references to the events of this horrid year, but skipping all that, the basic outline is this -

In this sketch, Guille represents himself, a man, and Lu represents Argentina, the country. He comes to talk to her and say that he's leaving. Argentina gets angry, they argue, and he turns to leave. As he starts to walk out she stops him by pointing out that Argentina can offer him one thing no other country can give - absolute, utter impunity. Whatever mistakes he makes, no matter how badly he fouls up his life, he will never have to accept responsibility for any of it; he can always blame everything on Argentina. So he rips up his airline ticket and says he'll stay for another year.

Somewhereinba, I can see this in relation to your comments above in two ways. Maybe it opposes what you say, and maybe it supports it, or at least excuses your bile. Because in the end all that I can do, all that any of us who love this country can do, is throw up our hands and say, "Because Argentina!"

I don't know. Happy New Year.
