Russia just admitted that COVID death is much higher. At least they are more honest than Chinese.
It's not too late to admit.

Also Sputnik V vaccine is produced by their partners, and China is one of them. The Argentina vaccine could be made in China.
Vaccine started very early in China (and Russia), very few people wanted it in China, especially the high ranking officials in China.
It's one thing to BS about what you can do, it's another to inject it into your body.
I think the sputnik v is somewhat safe, but probably not working well.

Can't do that on my end.
It worked for me.

The propaganda reports on the unprecedented success of Sputnik V in the world.
The news of the delivery of 300 thousand doses of the Russian vaccine against COVID-19 "Sputnik V" to Argentina extremely cheered some, others - angered. Everything is more or less clear with those who rejoiced at the "increase in Russia's prestige in the international arena." Any PR project should have information support in the form of noise in the media and social networks. Both state media and internet bot networks create it.

The fact that the delivery of Sputnik to Argentina is a PR is evidenced by at least the number of vaccines delivered there. 300 thousand is 150 thousand vaccinated people. The Gamaleya Center vaccine consists of two doses, which must be administered 21 days apart. The population of Argentina is approximately 44.5 million people.

At the same time, in Russia itself, at the moment, as state media assure, about 700 thousand doses of Sputnik V have entered civilian circulation. By the end of the year, Sputnik V is promised to provide about 1.5 million Russians.

That is, the Russian authorities immediately sent a fairly large batch of the vaccine available to the country, where they urgently issued permission to use Sputnik V. If we consider that the Argentines will need another 300 thousand doses of the second part of the vaccine, it turns out that the Russian Federation has given this country a "large chunk" of the already produced batch of vaccinations.

Against this background, reports on supplies to the Russian regions look more than modest. “More than 2 thousand doses of coronavirus vaccine have arrived in the Irkutsk region”; “Almost 2 thousand Kuzbass residents were vaccinated against the coronavirus”; “More than 3.5 thousand doses of COVID-19 vaccine delivered to the Sverdlovsk region”; “Dagestan received 3,442 doses”; “The Chelyabinsk region received 3.7 thousand doses of the Gam-Covid-Vak vaccine - about 2-4 thousand doses everywhere (quotes from Interfax ).

At the same time, only St. Petersburg, according to the governor Alexander Beglov, needs 300 thousand doses of the vaccine. It is clear that other regions (except for Moscow and the Moscow region) need less.

At the same time, answering one of the questions during his press conference on December 17, Russian President Vladimir Putin assured that the creation of collective immunity within Russia is a priority area for the country's leadership: “First of all, I have always spoken about this and will say it again, I want so that everyone in the country can hear me, our task is to vaccinate within the Russian Federation, ”the head of state said.

“Why did Sputnik V start arriving in Argentina in much larger quantities than in Russian regions?” - this question became the most popular yesterday (after the news about shipments to a Latin American country) in Russian-speaking social networks.

....Jorge Rachid is an advisor to the Province of Buenos Aires in the fight against the coronavirus and assured that "the owner of Pfizer is the same one who tried to prevent the restructuring of Argentine debt".

Vaccination began in the country with the Sputnik V vaccine of Russian origin, but the controversy continues around the vaccine from Pfizer, an American laboratory that was the first to begin negotiations with Argentina. The doctor and advisor to the government of Buenos Aires, Jorge Rachid, assured that "from the company they asked for a law with guarantees, with unattachable assets such as glaciers, and fishing permits."

"We as a country cannot allow them to treat us as a colony," said Rachid, who was also skeptical about the good faith in the negotiations by stating that "they asked for specific seizable assets and Argentina has a very strong memory of the Frigate "Libertad" and the vulture funds of Paul Singer".
Governor Axel Kicillof's advisor describes himself as a Peronist militant and university professor on his Twitter profile, where he shares numerous notes he made on the subject in recent days. He speaks of Pfizer making "unacceptable requests" and agrees with the Minister of Health, Ginés González García that the laboratory "doubts about its vaccine."

"When I say glaciers it is not by chance, because two weeks ago fresh water began to trade on Wall Street. Let's not forget that the owner of Pfizer is the Blackrock Fund, the same one that tried to prevent the restructuring of Argentine debt", Rachid remarked in statements to Radio 10. The advisor also revealed that the US laboratory "accepted that it is not going to give in on that and a contract is being sought" with Argentina after the decision of the president, Alberto Fernández, to "resume negotiations."

JuntosXCambio asked the Health Commission of the Chamber of Deputies to call the Minister of Health to offer explanations about the negotiations with Pfizer in addition to providing more detailed information on the Sputnik V vaccine, which does not have public data.

so...the government is crying about foul treatment but has no one to blame but themselves for defaulting in the first place. gotta love that logic.

i also am highly skeptical there is much truth to that story they are selling.

A key advisor to Alberto Fernández spoke about the delay in the production of the second dose of the Russian vaccine: “We hope to be able to follow the agreed deadlines” The difficulty of producing the second formula would increase the risk of not being able to be applied on time to those who the first dose has already been given....
