Covid Vaccination Argentina

Communiqué from Vizzotti and the ministers of health throughout the country
"The health authorities are more united than ever"
The Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, and the health authorities of all the jurisdictions of the country expressed this Saturday, in a joint pronouncement, that they are "more united than ever to build on what has already been built, with a view to correcting everything that is needed to improve access to vaccines" against the coronavirus.

In a statement, the ministers in turn rejected the voices that question "the entire functioning of the vaccination system in Argentina."

"It is time to value what we have, to build on what is built and achieve maximum cooperation: we are taking care of the health of every Argentine," Vizzotti said, summarizing the spirit of the statement through his Twitter account.

"It is time to value what we have, to build on what is built and achieve maximum cooperation: we are taking care of the health of every Argentine," Vizzotti said, summarizing the spirit of the statement through his Twitter account.
The text is signed by the Minister of Health of the Nation, the representatives of the provinces and that of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, Fernán Quirós.

The holders of the health portfolios stressed that they are working in a "united and consensual way, prioritizing public health with a federal approach" since December 2019 "without regard" the "political or party identities, because the only flag is health policy."
"We see, however, that in recent days voices have emerged whose visible interest is to generate divisions where there are none, and questioning the entire functioning of the vaccination system in Argentina," they warned.

Following this line, the ministers pointed out that restrictions on international access to vaccines "lead to the fact that, when prioritization of some sectors, others are postponed, until the next shipment arrives."

"That's why consensus is so important when defining those priorities. While on issues like this it is impossible to achieve absolute consensus, it is possible to differentiate reasonable questions from malicious criticisms," they added.
the ministers highlighted in the statement the "complexity" involved in organizing the arrival of coronavirus vaccines in a country that "has a federal system of government and a fragmented health system," while stressing that "Argentina's Immunization Program is a leader in the Americas, and America in turn is a leader in the world."

"Beyond all the mechanisms that the State can use, health workers are the golden link for vaccines to reach the target population, because Argentina is a very large and unequal country," they added.
In this sense, they affirmed that "vaccinators receive vaccines and apply them with effort, dedication, and above all, with a lot of love."
"Sometimes they do it in areas where there is no Internet, or where there are difficulties or few capacities to use computer tools, traveling long distances, in extreme climates, to name a few realities," they recalled.

Regarding the leadership of the Immunization Program of Argentina, they reviewed some of its achievements:

thanks to vaccines, no cases of polio have been reported since 1984, endemic measles since 2000, diphtheria since 2006, neonatal tetanus since 2007 and endemic rubella and congenital rubella syndrome since 2009.
"There have also been no liver transplants for hepatitis A in vaccinated children since 2007, as well as the 57 percent reduction in hospitalizations for pneumonia in children under five years of age since pneumococcal vaccination, and 82 percent in the lethality in children under one year of age for whooping cough since the vaccination of pregnant women," the Ministers of Health specified.
Argentina, in addition, is one of the first countries to incorporate HPV vaccination for girls aged 11 years from 2011 and boys since 2017, while it is also among the few that have the universal hepatitis B vaccine in their calendar, the officials stressed in the text.

"Today we are in the early stages of the largest vaccination campaign in Argentine history. As vaccines against Covid-19 arrive in our country, it is necessary to organize an unprecedented deployment of personnel for customs clearance, preparation, distribution, reception in the provinces, a new distribution within each province and the preparation of vaccinators and vaccinators, "they said.
Faced with this situation, the health authorities claim to be "more united than ever, to build on what has already been built, with a view to correcting everything that is needed to improve access to vaccines and thus reduce the impact on mortality of a possible second wave."

"We see what happens in the Northern Hemisphere, and that is why we know that it is necessary as soon as possible to vaccinate the population that is most at risk of dying. We call on everyone to measure the effort and achievements that Argentina is having in terms of vaccination. The health of Argentines has to find us all with our maximum cooperation behind that same objective," they concluded.

The Ministry of Health begins the distribution of more doses of Sputnik V

According to the Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, the delivery of the Sputnik V vaccine began to be prepared logistically this Sunday and tomorrow they will be sent to each of the established destinations, the Sputnik V vaccine to the 24 jurisdictions of the country.
Between Tuesday and Wednesday, all the provinces and the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires will begin to receive proportionally a total of the doses of the second component of the Sputnik V vaccine in order to complete the vaccination schedules that the national government carries out in the fight against covid-19.

The number sent to each jurisdiction - it was clarified - strictly depends on the percentage of population.

The vaccination in Argentina, in real time.

After it's spree of yellow journalism and political sabotage relating to the extra curricular vaccinations of a few people in and around government and little else La Nacion virtually stopped recently, for at least 3 days, reporting on the state of the actual status and progress of new vaccine arrivals and their distribution within the country. Except in their online dashboard.
Tucked inside the online Dashboard there's an abundance of statistical and chart formatted information.
It's a work of art and a fount of information.

It does not address the government of CABA's dissembling from a straight forward vaccination schedule in the face of health personnel, teachers and related personnel, vaccinations via the various health organizations, nursing homes and the general public of 80 years & up.

It does give a real time, data based picture of vaccinations in real time.
Accessed here at this page and then via the links for "La Argentina" "El Mundo" "Vacunacion"

The governor of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof: "Getting vaccines is an odyssey"
The arrival of vaccines in the country is slower than expected.
In turn, he criticized the opposition for the stigmatization of Sputnik V:
"When some of us were in a vaccination campaign, others were in the electoral campaign"

When Alberto said in December that by the end of February there will be 10m vaccinated, everyone outside his political circle knew it was nearly impossible. The question was why he would make such unrealistic forecasts.
According to Kiciloff the opposition is already in electoral campaign mode. Can you please explain why this actions by the opposition contributed to this? (less than 10% than promised) I know that many countries are missing their targets. But by over 90%??
And regarding Sputnik: what the government did was a huge gamble. They approved the vaccine without having had sufficient data. In the end the gamble paid off (Lancet article; i am now not mentioning that the EU did still not approve the vaccine last week... ). Truth is: the Russians are not really a trustworthy partner and they use Sputnik to maximize poltical gain. And now that the vaccine seems to work, there are simply more interesting countries to send the vaccine to (e.g. Eastern Europe). In a certain way Argentina put the money on the right color, but now the casino doesnt want to pay them off.

It is a well known fact, when the USA sends out the vaccines they do it to save the mankind, but when Russia or China does the same thing, it is only to maximize the political gain. (I am being sarcastic, just in case).

And now that the vaccine seems to work...
It seemed to work when no internationally recognized data was available. Now it has been proven to work.

...there are simply more interesting countries to send the vaccine to (e.g. Eastern Europe).
Eastern Europe?

In a certain way Argentina put the money on the right color, but now the casino doesnt want to pay them off.
Yeah, first the vaccine was just bad, now it seems to be OK, but the Russians are not sending it fast enough. And the vaccination in the rest of the world is right on schedule. What's next?

Harsh criticisms of the vaccination of older adults in CABA: "It is a lack of respect for health"

Legislators of the Front of All demanded a report from the government of Rodríguez Larreta
"PAMI offered 10 vaccination centers and (Horacio Rodríguez) Larreta and (Fernán) Quirós did not respond," Mariano Recalde, national senator of the FdT for the City of Buenos Aires, wrote on Twitter.
In that sense, he said that, from the Buenos Aires Government, "the elderly who do not have prepaid to line up eternally to saturated centers."
"The vaccination campaign in the City is a disaster and those responsible have to give answers," he added.

Vaccination: Fernán Quirós apologized for "the disorder" (vaccinating elders)

The Buenos Aires Minister of Health said that from tomorrow the vaccination sites triple
"The amount of tributaries (companions) was much greater than expected"
After a day of vaccination crossed by criticism of the authorities of the city government for the long delays, the Buenos Aires Minister of Health Fernán Quirós expressed his apologies for the "disorder that occurred." "We have arranged since tomorrow that the vaccination sites be tripled," the official emphasized.

Radical deputies - Alfredo Cornejo and Luis Petri, are authors of the initiative, which also contemplates that the provinces and the City can acquire their doses without the intervention of the national government
The initiative would also authorize the provinces and the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires to acquire vaccines and then use them to the plans that govern each district.
