Does anyone know any way in Capital or GBA to get a first dose of Moderna or Pfizer? I know they arent available but maybe someone has more info or can speculate if they will become available. Since most everyone has already their first dose and millions of Pfizer vaccines are expected to arrive form now till the end of the year...what do guys think/know?

Would you think Uruguay would be an option in the next weeks to get a first dose of Moderna or Pfizer?

COVID-19 Vaccine Information:
- Are vaccines available in Uruguay for U.S. citizens to receive?
Yes
- According to local authorities, the following vaccines are available in Uruguay: Sinovac, Pfizer BioNtech, and AstraZeneca. Individuals can sign up for vaccinations on the official Uruguayan government website (https://www.gub.uy/uruguaysevacuna). Individuals are required to have a Uruguayan cedula (national identity card) in order to sign up.
- The U.S. government does not plan to provide COVID-19 vaccinations to private U.S. citizens overseas. Please follow host country developments and guidelines for COVID-19 vaccination.

The US will recognise all WHO approved vaccines for entry by foreign nationals and those with such vaccines will be not be required to get another dose of another vaccine.

In this way, the vaccines already approved by the FDA (Pfizer BioNtech, Moderna and Janssen), in the United States, will be recognized as valid the complete vaccination schedule with the doses of Oxford / AstraZeneca , Covishield , Sinopharm and SinoVac , which are currently listed in the list of vaccines authorized for use by WHO.

Has anyone had their COVID 19 certificate added to Mi Argentina app yet after doing this?
If not, the reason may be that the national Gov't "has yet to define how it will homologate the immunization of travelers so that they can process the digital vaccination credential, which is the official travel document that accredits that status effective Sept 6th. But that national document is generated from the incorporation of each person's vaccination data in the federal Nomivac registry, which is uploaded in each jurisdiction".

The Minister of Health of the City of BA, Fernán Quirós, pointed out that "in the first days of October" new sanitary measures could be announced in the face of the pandemic, which could include the non-obligatory use of the mask in open spaces in the event that 70% of the porteños were covered with two doses. "During the first days of October we will talk with the public and tell them how we continue based on the progress of vaccination and the epidemiological situation," said the head of the health portfolio.

But Quirós pointed out: "There is international evidence that when 50% of the general population already has two doses, the circulation of Delta does not stop but there are no serious cases, while when they reach 70% with double doses, it is difficult for Delta to circulate in the community, that is to say that the curve is beginning to slow down because infections are decreasing".
Today 96% of those over 18 received the first dose. 74.6% of the general population of CABA is already vaccinated with one dose and 59.5% with both....

....Asked about the possibility that the United States decides that it will not allow the entry of people vaccinated with Sputnik V, Quirós considered that "it would be reasonable for countries to accept as vaccinated people who have completed their schedule with the vaccines authorized in their country of origin because each country is autonomous and has every right to define which are the valid schemes".

....Argentina’s government has so far paid around US$700 million to eight suppliers of Covid-19 vaccines, according to leaked official documents – under half of the total it has pledged to spend. Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, President Alberto Fernández's government has agreed to purchase around 130 million doses of coronavirus vaccines. To date, it has taken delivery of more than 65 million doses from various laboratories, while spending close to US$700 million – 46 percent of the cumulative cost of the shots. Documents containing details of the payment, to which the Noticias Argentinas had access this week, permits some of the details of the purchase contracts to be inferred, despite the most absolute secrecy due to the confidentiality agreements signed with the labs....

....In total, Argentina’s government has agreed to buy 130,404,710 doses of vaccines for a total value of US$1,493,022,520. As of September 9, it had received around 55 million purchased vaccines (not including the 3.5 million doses of Moderna donated by the United States nor the 400,000 given free by Spain)....

Today 549,000 doses of AstraZeneca will arrive at Ezeiza in the afternoon....The AstraZeneca inoculants are part of a donation made by the Canadian government, as part of the global initiative for equitable access....This new batch will be added to the 200,000 CanSino vaccines that arrived on Sunday afternoon. These Chinese vaccines, with a single-dose scheme, will be "used throughout the national territory to advance the strategic coverage of populations with difficult access, such as homeless people, migrants, refugees and other dispersed groups."....According to
the Public Vaccination Monitor, as of this Sunday afternoon, 55,269,629 doses had been distributed throughout the territory, while applications total 50,790,451. In turn, 29,448,013 people started their scheme and 21,416,363 completed it....

The Guardian article is not written very clearly. I think we can infer up to two possibilities:

(i) if we have a double dose of Astra Zeneca administered in Argentina, we are not considered fully immunized and will have to spend 10 days in quarantine on arrival to the UK;

or

(ii) if we have a double dose of Astra Zeneca administered in Argentina, we ARE considered fully immunized, BUT if we have just one dose of Astra Zeneca and our second dose was with a different vaccine, we ARE NOT considered fully immunized and will have to spend 10 days in quarantine on arrival to the UK.

How do others read it? Does anybody know more about this?

Up until now and also from 4th October only UK residents or British or Irish nationals are permitted to arrive in the UK from Red List countries
Arrivals to the UK from Red List countries must complete 10 days hotel quarantine at a minimum cost of GBP2285

The rules are in this government notice:
