Cuba Russia and China to Head the UN Human Rights Council....!

The Saudis have been committing genocide in Yemen right under the nose of the UN, mainly with arms sold by the UK and US. MBS is spending a lot on PR and his "reforms" are largely for optics. Where did you hear that there have been curbs on executions? They've actually been increasing.

I never implied human rights abuses don't exist in Cuba, but the scale does not compare with China, Saudi Arabia, or Russia. Capitol punishment has not been applied since 2003, and political detentions have been decreasing (according to HRW). But If people want to keep digging up Cuban activities during the Cold War, great, I love discussing it. I have an extensive academic background on the topic. But Cuba in 2020 is just another very poor island in the Caribbean. The idea of a Cuba as a regional threat is just not accurate.

Your line of reasoning "OtherCountries are worse HR abusers than Cuba" China, Saudi Arabia or Russia . Very weak argument..!
Very impressed about your academic background on Cuban activities during the Cold war..! But it can never replace real life experience..!

Cuba has committed their fair share of human rights abuses over the past 60 years. But, lets be honest, Cuba is an impoverished sh*thole with little influence or power in the world today. I don't understand this obsession over Cuba at current date, it's a thing of the past.

Saying country x is worse than country y isn't excusing the actions of country y. The Saudis and the Chinese have money and power, the Cubans are broke. That's why the focus should be on the countries that can currently push around their weight.

Saying it's a weak argument is itself a weak argument, if you want to ignore that there are significant differences between these regimes. And I can't help that I'm under 60, and have less real life experience. However, I did have a Cuban professor who had experience working with both Fidel and Robert S. McNamara, if that makes up for it!

Cuba has a great amount of influence in OUR area, Venezuela , Nicaragua and LATAM. Cuba may be broke but their ideological campaign to undermine Democratic Governments and install Socialistic dictatorships continue to exist . You must convince the Cuban American Florida community that Cuba is NOT a threat.

The Saudis instead push around their weight and petrodollars in Yemen, and the Gulf Area plus the Middle East. The Chinese in Africa.

We know the answer...Israel as always.

I was going to say the same. But now that the Gulf States are playing nice with Israel (and Bibi distracted by his own issues), I'm sure that will change.
