Hi, Can anyone recommend a good dentist for OSDE 210. Just for a general check-up, nothing complicated and does not have to speak english and preferably along green line between centro and las canitas. Thanks!

I always recommend my dentist Bettina Pettiti.

Details in "post #8": http://baexpats.org/expat-life/20923-english-speaking-dentist.html

After UBA, she studied more in the States some (UCLA & NYU I believe) and then was the COLGATE rep for South America (I believer)... definitely the Colgate rep for a while.

I had neglected my mouth a bit, so I've gotten cleanings and I'm working on my second crown with her. I also got root canals last year, but she sends you to a specialist for that who has taught endontology at UBA as well as had follow up certifications in the States. (Hopefully you won't need a root canal anytime soon, but if you do, then Dr. Henry is excellent.)

I'm also getting braces done, but that's from an orthodontist that comes into the office once a week (Wednesdays). When our schedules don't match up, there's another orthodontist who comes in on Thursdays who has seen me a couple of times for tightenings. (For some reason, my teeth never hurt after my braces are tightened, but I've heard that most people in the world aren't as lucky as I am.)

I take the Subte D (green line) to the TRIBUNALES stop and then back track 2 1/2 blocks. (2 blocks to Cordoba and then 1/2 block up)

I don't have OSDE 210, but if you call the office (and can speak Spanish), then they can tell you if they take it.

Bettina speaks English.

Dr. Henry (endontologist) speaks English.

My orthodontist doesn't speak much English.

The lady who answers the phone doesn't speak much English.

I would just like to second this recommendation of Bettina Pettiti. I have been seeing her for about a year now and she does good work, with reasonable prices.

After trying two highly-recommended dentists who seemed more interested in reconstruction than prevention, I took the advice of a couple local friends and went to the clinic of the Drs. Polack on Santa Fe near Uriburu. Since there are several dentists working shifts there, appointments are easy, and to my surprise, they seem to practice more like my dentist in New York did, with an emphasis on preventive care rather than waiting to do complicated repairs. One of the friends who recommended the clinic reported that when they recommended extraction of his wisdom teeth, they also recommended a couple OSDE-accepting dental surgeons outside the clinic, rather than trying to do it themselves, which I consider a very good thing (and seemingly rare in Buenos Aires).

My personal dentist there is Gabriela Margalejo, whom I like a lot. I've also seen a couple other dentists there who are equally recommendable.

They accept OSDE and so far have never charged me anything. Phone 4821-2019. Receptionist is Melissa - tell her Jim sends greetings.

Couldnt agree more Napolean. She is the first dentist ever to tell me my gums where healthier than hers after she got me on a flossing plan (she must've been lying!)..not a v Irish thing to do but life changing! She's so nice, funny & smart...great recommendation!

A thank you for the Pettiti recommendation. I just went yesterday for the first time. Although neither Pettiti did my cleaning, Laura at their office did the best cleaning I've had done in over 5 years in BA and the closest to the standards I was accustomed to before. She actually rolled up her sleeves and cleaned! Thanks again!

Well, they accept OSDE 310. I can't vouch for 210. You could call or look in the cartilla or online.

Can anyone recommend a good cheep Dentist? I don't have health insurance here and am in need of a cleaning and probably have a cavity. thanks

I want to recommend my dentist since 2008. He is on the OSDE 210 plan. I have recommended him to friends who were visiting BsAs. A cleaning is about 90 pesos.
