cafeconleche said:Update - We got our DNIs. What does this mean as far as our residency is concerned? My husband's employer claims that we now don't have to do anything further for our residency and that we can stay here legally (indefinitely?) with our expiring Residencia Precarias and our DNIs. But shouldn't we actually be getting a residency visa of some sort in our passports indicating that we live here??
Thank you all in advance!
If you have your DNIs in hand you are fine. If you have residency temporaria you will have to renew it before the end of one year from the date of issue. Look in your DNIs for the date. You can renew up to 60 days in advance of the anniversary.
Do your DNIs indicate your present address? if not you can go to the registro to make a cambio de domicilio.
You don't have to have anything in stamped in your passports.
Do make several photocopies of your DNIs asap.
Did you have to pay the agency the additional $1000 pesos to get your DNIs after all?
