Effects Of A Default On Expats

Supreme Court:
That is pure horse sh*t. The settled bond holders have been denied their $$$ (property) without due process.

So, the Supreme Court was supposed to consider a petition with no constitutional merit? That is not its duty. What any individual Justice thinks about Argentina's cause we'll probably never know, and that's irrelevant in any event.

Of course we can trust what the Argentine government tells us - can't we?

El jefe de Gabinete, Capitanich, destacó el "apoyo de la comunidad internacional" a la Argentina en este conflicto, que ayer sumó el respaldo de los países que conforman los bloques BRICS y Unasur.

Cabinet Chief Capitanich emphasized the "support of the international community" to Argentina, who yesterday received the backing of the countries of the BRICS and Unasur blocks in this conflict.

Presidenta Cristina also says that BRICS support Argentina in the holdouts dispute.

Unfortunately nobody else has heard about it.

It wasn't mentioned in the official document from the Brasilia summit on Wednesday or from the BRICS meeting in Fortaleza on Tuesday.

"The only person who spoke about the vulture funds was the Argentine president ... there was no official joint statement...", said a Brazilian foreign ministry spokesperson.

“The issue was not addressed, there won’t be any statement from the blocks and there is no joint document. We had the speeches from the presidents but that issue was not on the table, the main issue was economic and social development”, said a high ranking member from Dilma Rousseff’s administration.

There was also no promise of a 5bn dollars loan to replenish depleted central bank international reserves ... no BRICS member made such an offer.

A fact check can be useful ;) (article above is wrong)

When the press talks like this, without any reliable source, I automatically discredit the information. Its just very little serious to do that, its when the press talks for itself, not putting words in any person. Its like giving information to the air, without any foot on the floor, without any source of anything. This is how the media works, this is how they create (false) information.

Another one

For succinct realism, it's hard to top this tweet from Taos Turner, the WSJ's local correspondent: "Argentina has gathered moral support for its stance on the holdouts, but it's hard to see how that will have any tangible benefit in court."

The conspiracy deepens...

Lovely.

Did you actually read from the link you copied?

It is in Portuguez and says:

"Em apoio à presidente argentina, Cristina Kirchner, Dilma fez um apelo aos demais presidentes por um ”caminho conjunto entre nós“ para mostrar que a decisão da Justiça dos EUA poderá ser muito dura para países em desenvolvimento e que as economias mais frágeis vão sofrer muito com procedimentos desse tipo."

Dilma appealed to the other presidents ...

It seems that Argentina receives international support from the BRICS when I read this:

A presidente Dilma Rousseff aproveitou seu discurso de encerramento da reunião do Brics com os países da América do Sul para pedir um discurso unificado contra o precedente criado pelo Judiciário dos Estados Unidos, que obrigou o pagamento integral da dívida argentina aos chamados fundos holdouts
