El Calafate

Has anyone taken the bus from El Calafate to Puerto Natales lately? I'm trying to budget for our trip and can't find a recent price quote for that leg.

Just got back from Ushuaia and Calafate this evening and had a blast. We actually were delayed a day due to a plane issue and were forced to stay an extra day in Calafate, oh bummer! We flew LAN on all our flights and they were late getting out of BsAs and then the delay yesterday. However, they put us up in the Los Alamos hotel which is the only 5 star in El Calafate and fed us 4 of the best meals we have had since moving to BsAs. Their customer service was excellent so we will use them again.

What did we do? We did the Ushuaia boat tour in the harbour, very fun, we had bad weather our day but it was still fun. We did the train to the end of the world and Tierra del Fuego Natl park and that was a blast. The town is neat but only stayed 2 days.

El Calafate is great too. We stayed at the Mirador on the edge of town and that is a nice new place with very good service. We did a 4x4 trek in the hills behind town with Mil Outdoor Adventures and had a great time. We did the Perito Moreno boat excursion and went to the park also a great time. We also went to Nibepo Aike Estancia in the state park and that was very fun too. We had beers at the Libro Bar on the Libertador and that is a great place to drink, staff is slow but friendly. We at a fantastic meal at Ricks, right next to the casino. Don't let the bland decor fool you, it was fantastic carne and the place is always full. We travelled with a 10 and 5 year old so our options were limited on the hiking and trekking excursions but really enjoyed our time.
