END of the ROAD

Of course this board can be negative. For foreigners, it's one of the only places we can vent about stuff. Without an outlet like this, as small as it is, I think I'd go insane in this city sometimes. Complaining can be therapeutic.

I've only been here for 6 months and my days here are certainly numbered, but I think it's been the best experience of my life so far.

Hope your trip back is safe and I wish you the best of luck back home.

If you can survive Argentina, especially if you have earned pesos and lived on the economy like Argentines, you've ended up a lot stronger and able to cope with difficult situations. I find most Americans incredibly spoiled. Even in the midst of the current crisis life is far, far easier for most Americans than it is for most Agentines. When you go back to the US you go back appreciative of what is there and a lot wiser about how most of the world works - and it is a lot worse in many parts of the world than it is in Argentina.
Hi, I'm a lurker who reads posts here because I am thinking about being an expat in B.A.

I think you overlook the part where the negative people say Argentina has great potential to be a wonderful country. People here aren't negative because they think their country is better. They are negative because they think Argentina can be a much better country and it frustrates them nothing seems to be done in order to go in the right direction. Hell, Argentina has the potential to be right up there with developed nations.

The frustration doesn't come from people being spoiled. It comes from people feeling a lot of the headaches in Argentina are unnecessary.
