Expats not happy, why stay?

The next couple of years here looks tough.

For what it's worth, I have been told that since we first moved here in 2005.

I think that if you can earn dollars, euros or pounds, and live on pesos, it's another story.

No it's not.
But thanks for the concern.

We earn pesos & are not going to bail just yet. Of course, we have the luxury to do just that when the going gets tough.

Thanks for the kind words!

Actually, our contribution to Argentina was part of the impetus for relocating to Alaska. We were asked to help creating a values based, eco friendly, RAD ski area. More on that in the months to come.

If I may dare be so bold, here is the link to our income producing property for sale in Patagonia.
Concept leverage is a beautiful thing!
All of the best to you.
Enjoy the fresh Halibut.

Things have and are deteriorating here at a rapid pace regardless of what currency you earn. Hope you are able to unload your property and start your new life before things really get bad.

hang on a minute,,negativity creeping in here:I bought my house here, cash,in 2007 and the value has doubled since.Am I missing something here?

As Mark Twain said: "Reports of my demise have been greatly exaggerated".

Argentina has been given up for dead more times than I remember, yet it keeps coming back. I'm sure we'll survive this crisis, too.

I guess one difference between residents and non-residents is that they can bail out when the going gets tough, but we can't - too many emotional/family/economic ties. So we have no choice but to remain optimistic. (Or just put our heads in the sand - I always though ostriches had the right idea!)

I have no doubt that Argentina will survive but I'm sure it's not pleasant going through it.

We're residents & I can bail whenever I want. At the end of the day, if thing really get bad we just need to find the airport.
