These are great destinations for rich expats. What about destinations for "Average Joe" expats?

I say Argentina is the favorite for Average Joes.

Does Aerolinas still fly the Comet 4?

Not sure about SIngapore but I'll bet a lot of things are cheaper in Bahrain and NZ. For sure petrol is cheaper in Bahrain. I don't think there are any income or import taxes there.

Joe, that is Dubai, UAE where I currently am.
Bahrain is by far a favorite tourist location. I worked in Saudi, just across the bridge from Bahrain and its not cheap there as some may think. We used to go there to get our drink on, along with the hypocritical Saudi Arabs. They would take off their "white dress" and "head towel" after the customs checkpoint on the bridge and load up on viagra and booze and act like most men in Latin America.

i am in Turkey, now. Last month, I visited Oslo, Norway.A can of Coke with a straw can cost US$5.00. In Riga, Latvia, a can of Coke with a straw and a meal can cost US$5.00.
Best places to live IMO - Chiang Mai, Thailand, Valencia, Spain, Kula Lumpur,Malaysia, Cartagena, Colombia.
And the winner is TIRANA, ALBANIA !!

Alcohol is expensive because it's an Islamic country and restricted but COL for residents may be generally reasonable. Rents, cars, petrol, cost of furnishings, electronics, clothes etc. are probably cheaper than in Argentina.
