Anyone know where to get safe, sanitary flu shots in Recoleta or Palermo (preferably)?

Thanks!

Any pharmacy has "sanitary" flu shots. It's not flue season right now so I don't think they'll have them. You will probably have to go to a vaccination clinic, though I don't know if they'll have one in Recoleta within walking distance from your apartment.

One thing about this forum that seriously cracks me up is that everyone always asks where to find such and such, "preferrably in Recoleta and Palermo", since no one wants to leave those two neighborhoods. Buenos Aires is a big city, people should get out and discover it. We should start a special forum category called "things in Recoleta and Palermo". It would be pretty funny.

FYI, the clinic Vacunar just opened a new branch in Recoleta on Marcelo T. de Alvear 2346.

Flu season is over - just in case you're coming from the northern hemisphere and thinking now is the normal time to do it. Here they're done in June or so. Seems silly but thought I would point it out.

Just call your doctor and ask.

Thanks for the advice. My husband is a lawyer and doesn't have a ton of free time so that's why it needs to be close by. We have lived here for almost a year so we do get out and see the city. I realize flu season is over, but we're traveling back to the states to meet our 1 week old nephew whose doctor is requesting all visitors have an updated flu shot. Anyway, I appreciate the information!

I'm not sure but I think there are different strains of the flu depending on where you and they create the shot in Argentina or the US based on the strains they expect to be the most abundant that season. I got my flu shot on the states in April once thinking I was being so clever coming down to Argentina already having my flu shot, and a month later I got the flu.

If you put any stock in Dr. Russell Blaylock, M.D., brain specialist and surgeon, the more flu shots you have the higher your chances of alzheimers. Brains don't like all the aluminum, mercury and other stuff contained in the vaccine. Plus they are almost always wrong about the strain of flu. They just don't know far enough ahead of time, but you lay down your money anyway and get the shot. I say no thanks and I haven't had flu for--I can't even remember when. It's been years!
