Do you have transport to the airport organised? That might be a big problem for the 6th.

I would agree that the most likely problem will be getting to the airport. Often, the roads are blocked during a general strike. I would stay the night before in a hotel as close to EZE as possible and pack light in case you have to walk part of the way!

But didn't Macri really get strict with people blocking the road to the airport? IIRC, the last time he had the police/army shooting rubber bullets at people that were blocking the highway to the airport. No?

I said to hell with going through the hassle of a 6 April departure from EZE, so I changed my flight to the day before. I'm fortunate that I could change because my ticket is mileage award travel, thus no change fee, etc.

That it's a mileage ticket is largely irrelevant. In a case such as this one, (almost) any and all airlines will reschedule to a day or two before or after at no charge.

The only thing is that if you bought your ticket straight with an airline or via an online portal, you may spend a fair bit of time on hold with customer service.

Whereas people who bought with an agency, the agent goes crazy and the customer rests easy.

GOOD IDEA. I really worried about this last year. They block access to Ezeiza. I remember a few years ago elderly tourists were dropped off a mile or so from the entrance to Ezeiza and had to carry their own bags. I don't trust airlines to take a general strike into consideration.

INFORMACION PARA PASAJEROS VOLANDO EL 6 DE ABRIL

Frente a las medidas de fuerza anunciadas para el 6 de abril, el Grupo Aerolíneas informa que:
· La medida afectará a 20.000 personas que ya compraron sus pasajes. Y le costará a la empresa que cuenta con subsidios del Estado Nacional alrededor de 112 millones de pesos.

· A partir de hoy se podrán realizar cambios para vuelos desde y hacia destinos de Argentina volando ese día, telefónicamente en nuestro call center (0810-222-86527), en las oficinas de ventas de Aerolíneas, o contactándose con sus agencias de viaje.
· Habrá políticas especiales de reubicaciones, cambios y devoluciones, tendientes a minimizar el impacto de esta medida.
Al pasajero se le ofrecerán las siguientes opciones:
Cambios de fecha, manteniendo la ruta y cabina original, para volar entre el 1 y el 11 de abril: sin cargo. Aplica también para los tickets premio de ArPlus.
Cambios para volar con fecha posterior al 11 de abril: abona solo diferencia de tarifa en caso de corresponder y sin abonar penalidad ni cargo de fee de emisión. No se podrán reemitir pasajes para volar en Semana Santa -13 al 17 de abril ni fin de semana largo. Si se trata de un pasaje premio de ArPlus, aplica solo diferencia de millas, en caso de corresponder.
En todos los casos se trata de un cambio por única vez.
En los casos de pasajeros que decidan cancelar su viaje podrán solicitar la devolución de los pasajes según el siguiente detalle:
Boletos que permiten devolución: se deberá gestionar a través del mismo canal utilizado para la compra (web, agencia de viajes, sucursal de Aerolíneas, call center).
No se efectuarán devoluciones en efectivo en el Aeropuerto.
En el caso de tratarse de un pasaje premio del programa Aerolíneas Plus, se procederá a su devolución o se permitirá cambio sin cargo alguno.
Boletos que no permiten devolución: se autoriza devolución del 100% del pasaje por el mismo canal utilizado para la compra (web, agencia de viajes, sucursal de Aerolíneas, call center) solo hasta el 11 de abril. Si se trata de un pasaje premio del programa ArPlus, se efectúa devolución o se procede a realizar cambio de fecha sin cargo alguno.
En el caso de los vuelos a Estados Unidos, Europa y Caribe, los mismos serán reprogramados de forma tal que partirán el día 5 antes de las 12 de la noche y a primera hora del día 7. Se informará hora exacta de vuelo próximamente. Para ello, se recomienda a todos los pasajeros ingresar su dirección de email a la reserva (www.aerolineas.com/contacto), de manera de poder mantenerlos informados acerca de las reprogramaciones.
Le pedimos a los pasajeros con vuelos para esa fecha contactarse al call center o a los puntos de venta de Aerolíneas Argentinas para reprogramar su fecha de viaje. El día 6 de abril la atención al público en el aeropuerto se verá restringida.

As of today in the morning, pretty much all airlines have authorized reissue to neighbo(u)ring dates.

If you bought the ticket with an old-fashioned travel agent, a Whatsapp is all you need (assuming there's still space available on the flight you need).

Otherwise, gotta call the airline.
