Free Health Coverage For All In The City Of Buenos Aires

Artisans asked me about signing up for Coberatura Portena de Salud which is still offered in the city at certain hospitals. I am on the plan and am satisfied with it enough to recommend it to those who cannot afford a private plan. I can't justify paying 8000/month for a private plan when CoPS provides all I need. CeSAC is not a plan with assigned doctors.

If you happen to know of a hospital that has one of their sign up booths please share. Talking to someone in person, one might be able to get it sorted out. We live in Palermo, and had to go to Hospital Pirovano to sign up in a.m only, you might need a Certification negativa from Anses to apply. You can get this @Anses locations at their stand up kiosks & online in pdf format for printing,it prints out as single page stating your status with them!

Not by all the Argentine taxpayers. Public health services in CABA are funded by the city taxpayers.

Yes, it's just like Medicare in the USA. The money comes from taxes I pay living in the city. I get a return on my investment in the form of healthcare. I paid into Social Security for years, and now I receive a monthly benefit to live on. Socialism takes care of people.

It looks to me like the city runs a fiscal deficit. In other words, its expenses are higher than revenues. Who covers that shortfall? My guess is the federal government, i.e. all Argentine taxpayers.

Do you think that covers everything, especially with all the freebies here, like health insurance, cultural events like those at the the CCK, and just general maintenance and all the other services the city provides?

As a retiree who has never paid income tax here, even though I pay bienes personales and ABL and have private insurance, I often feel like I am taking advantage of the system, that I am just another freeloader living off the state?

We´d have no problem letting the sick die if corporations live or die by the same rule: "Their own merits".

Economy stems from power. US economy is the most robust because US is the most powerful nation on the planet. "Capitalism" has nothing to do with it.

Just like Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and the other social democracies with the best quality of life in the world. Some people like presidents that create a deficit by giving tax cuts to the billionaires and funding endless wars. Others prefer presidents that create a deficit by giving healthcare to the people.
