Everything above is correct, I get so pissed by the poor quality of everything from construction materials to clothing.
Having spent most of my life in the US I didn't know how good I had it.
Im really looking forward to hearing from the first people that successfully navigate this entire process. I would imagine the DHL/FedEx/UPS route is the way to go despite the slightly higher price than Correo.

I wrote about my UNsuccessful attempt in DOOR TO DOOR SERVICE EXPERIENCES to use the new simplified system of AFIP to pay for a package held at Correo Argentino.
The process is more complicated than it used to be making a trip to Aduanas at Retiro with a delivery notice and waiting an hour for your number to be called.
My recommendation is don't order anything outside the country. Ask friends to bring you what you absolutely can't live without or do without it.
