Bad mouthing Socialism will benefit Argentina ? . Socialist Governments in the EU will encourage investments here.
They won't care. "Socialist" governments are much less scared of capitalism, than opposite. After all they are capitalistic economies with social intervention. But for sure he didn't amaze anyone, except fox audience..

One thing is Argentinian or Latin American "Socialism" which is very different from European Social Democracy. Milei has yet to prove he can achieve anything so best he keeps his mouth shut until he does. One of those Social Democracies, Norway, has one of the highest gdp/capita in the world.

Imagine going all that way just for a photo with Dodgy Dave, the laughing stock of Europe:

They've obviously edited out the double chins, possibly on both, but somehow our 1.80m tall toddler-president doesn't quite measure up next to Dodgy Dave (only 5cm taller). He managed to give a strident repetition from his campaign speeches to a half empty room, ignored by the serious world press. Only the not very translatable Spanish phrase "pena ajena" describes it, really.

Indeed, many Nordic policies now promote free trade and free enterprise. The Heritage Foundation’s Index of Economic Freedom, which measures how capitalist a country is by studying regulation and taxation in different areas of the economy, ranks Denmark and Iceland as the 10th and 11th most capitalist countries in the world. Finland comes in at 17th, Sweden at 21st, and Norway at 28th. By comparison, the United States is ranked 20th. Property rights, business freedom, monetary freedom, and trade freedom are strong in the Nordic nations.

And I believe this is very much Melei’s speech. The negativity that has filtered through this thread surprised me. Last night, I had a taxi ride with a grizzled driver who railed the entire way against Kristina, her associates, Peronism in general, etc. – all the old misguided and corrupt ways. It gave me hope that maybe the shadow trade union government may not be invincible after all. Personally, I hope that.Milei and Argentina succeed. On a sidenote, I think it might aid discussions if a clear understanding of exactly what socialism is were agreed on. It is not something called social democracy.

Agree and perhaps Milei should also define what he means by "Socialism". Some in the Western Hemsiphere consider European Social Democracy as Socialism. Radical Liberalism also has its problems too when taken to the extremes that some latin american socialist countries have done with "Socialism". Radicalism on either side is not a solution. Personally I prefer something in the middle between both extremes but this seems difficult to achieve.
