Hi,

My name is Neil and I arrived 2 days ago. I came by ship!! There can't be many ship arrivers on here...it was three weeks from Italy and an experience of a lifetime.

sooooo...I'm here on my tod. Just thought I'd come out and hang here for 4-6 weeks. I speak Italian but almost zero Spanish. I'd like to get to meet some locals for conversation exchange and get my spanish improved. Does anyone know how I could organise that..have any of you managed to get some intercambio sorted out?

apart from that, any other tips for a 39 year old brit who's literally fresh off the boat? :)

Neil

hey neil,

i would suggest the buenos aires language exchange board on couchsurfing.com.

cheers

I would also suggest conversationexchange.com as a way to helping others with their English and getting help with your Spanish. I have found some of the nicest people through the site.

hey neil.
sounds like a crazy adventure you've just had-but must have been an amazing experience nonetheless-"different" to say the least.
anyway, i'd recommend these 2 sites to meet people + learn some spanish:
conversationexchange.com-great way to meet people + practice your spanish.
also spanglish.com-speed dating-meets-language exchange.
good luck.
hope u have a great time in b.a.
