Coming to BA in April in Airbnb for a month. In the process of rentista visa, what did you do to rent before that with no DNI? I can pay several months in advance or the whole contract in advance for the areas I'm looking at but not sure how to tackle utilities. Or if this will be generally acceptable.

Thank you.

but not sure how to tackle utilities.
Regarding your 2nd part question, when we rented over many years, with multi-year contracts, several different properties, and two different provinces, was that utilities stay in the owners name. The owner will ask you to pay those bills for them. Either pay in person at the utilities office where you might be able to use your foreign CC. Also can pay with cash at the many PagoFacil or RapiPago locations. This is for every renter, even those with a DNI. Non essential utilities like home phone, cable tv, internet might need to be arranged yourself without at DNI.

You would need DNI if you need to buy a guarantor, because of they will run DD on you.
Otherwise, just find an agency that works with foreigner, just need your passport.
Sometimes direct owner just need your passport too.

Contracts for an empty unfurnished unit run 1-3 years. Unless you plan on staying that long and furnishing it, there's no real need to go that route.

Check local AirBnB's on the website and put in the reservation for a month to see if they automatically offer a discount.

Without DNI you can get a garantia.
It's about 0.8 x annual rent x years what you pay for it.
You can get it on your passport no problem.

Not everyone does it, but i found multiple companies who provide it.

At a Tuesday meetup, this website was mentioned. I think it typically allows rentals up to 3 months, but you might be able to talk to the landlord for longer lease.

You can check in the link above rentals for a full month have at least a 20 % discounts , some even up to 40% .Also during summer up to feb 28th. some especial discounts may apply.
Now on a year contract must work out a deal.

I used my lovely apartment. They didn’t need a DNI or even ask for proof of income. They offer furnished units and are on the nicer side
