But some context would help. It turned out in retrospect that Wembley 2021 was undermined by a concerted social media campaign to field thousands of ticketless blaggers who would force their way into the game; Paris 2022 was undermined by a social media campaign to field thousands of holders of fake tickets who would force their way into the game.

The security services in London ought to have been pro-actively aware of what was being planned and taken measures to counter it; the security services in Paris ought to have learned from the mistakes of the British but neither seemed to carry out their responsibilities beyond responding inadequately to what they saw actually happening on the day.

Panama City is quite small in comparison to BA or Asian cities. The downtown core is decent enough, but quickly peters out into slums as you go farther afield. Also a bit more expensive than you might expect, and I am not a fan of the weather though you may feel differently. They did have a very easy residency visa process but it's now been closed off. If you need help with your visa let me know and I can connect you with the legal firm I used there, they were top notch.

Seems to me like this was amazingly peaceful, calm, and happy- compared to, say, when a US team wins, and the fans start fires, beat each other up, and damaged historic structures, as in Seattle, when they won the Super Bowl in 2014. US and UK sports violence - kind of like when Antifa and BLM et all rampaged through Dem cities a few years ago and the Dems did nothing. It's not as if Argentina doesn't have a history of violence and unrest... But yeah it was amazingly peaceful considering. It was close to getting spectacularly out of hand. It was more down to luck than anything else that things didn't kick off.

It sure was a very Argentinian day. I got an interestingly consistant answer as to why there was no plan and why it was ok that there was no plan: superstition. Dead set serious answer I got over and over in a way or another from seemingly level headed local people. Basically talking about a likely victory let alone planning too much ahead for it was jinxing it and not ok. Go figure

Do yourself a favor: before buying an hacienda, RENT one for a year and see how it goes. Sadly, Uruguay is not what the press makes it out to be.
