Not sure if this is a local or Patagonian issue, but we just got the yearly bill for the monitored alarma service we use for our apartment.

It was 2300 pesos 2 years ago, 3800 pesos last year and now they want $7200. This is insane, especially if you check the USD value over the years.

It seems that they have zero extra costs compared to before (maybe some 30% salary increase), so am looking for alternative suppliers/solutions.

Is this situation the same in BsAs and other places? Does complaning help?

I have the feeling, the next thing it's gonna go up way the hell up there, will be home insurance, at least in the BSAS province due to all the break ins, i'll keep my eyes peeled when my policy renews in a few months.....

Buy some cameras, install and you can monitor directly from any smartphone. Easier and cheaper.

I'd also recommend a dog if you don't have one. We have motion sensor lights which are pretty handy but you said you're in an apt.
