i need to learn spanish!!

first thing you have to do is ditch the canadian friends you seem to hang out with. They are too old, make you drink too much and just keep making you speak english. Once that is accomplished you will be free and clear to actually learn something here.

Can anyone recommend a good language school in Palermo? I've checked out most of the link in this thread and most schools seem to be either downtown or in Recoleta.
 
My advice is: always prefer private lessons, they are actually not much more expensive but you will be improve your Spanish much faster. You can find many private teachers on craigslist.
After you have some basics you can go to Spanglish or find conversation partners to practice.

Group classes are nice to socialize but much less effective.
 
^^Vamos is in Palermo, about 2 or 3 blocks from the Bulnes subte station.
