It is not the same tape, as far as I know. Moreover, I would be scared of things you do NOT see, rather than something so obvious on a wing everyone (including inspectors) can see.

No worries.. The duct tape only needs to hold until the water, flour & salt paste / glue dries.
FYI: Scotch tape is used on lifts / elevators, it is cheaper.:)
