Since the weather has been changing almost as much as the inflation rate in Argentina I find that I have a bad sinus infection. It is starting to creep into the chest.

What meds can you recommend that I can get at a Farmacity?

Before self medicating I suggest you visit the ear, nose and throat clinic on Juan D Peron near the centro. It will cost you 70 pesos to be seen by a specialist. He may even give you the meds you need for free. You may have to wait 45 minutes if you go at a busy hour.

I'm not prescribing. I'm just saying WHAT I DO. I've had this problem dozens of times and whats worked for me is ERYTHROMYCIN 333mg taken 3 times a day (every 8 hours) or 250mg taken 4 times a day (every 6 hours). Also ERYC 500mg taken 4 times a day (I break it in half so it's 250mg. x 4 times a day - every 6 hours). The other one that's worked for me is Zithromax. You take it for 5 days and it stays in your system at least twice that long. I would go see a Doctor because the chest thing sounds rather serious. My URI's never go beyond my sinuses and eustachian tubes. The chest can be serious stuff - wouldn't "F" around with that one. Dudester

PS. (yeah, I've got Doctors and Dentists in the family - not that I go to them but.... have learned a lot from them, especially info for all my solo world travels - gotta know how serious to take something when you get it - Doctor or self medicate, things like that....)

I had the exact same thing about 2 weeks ago, have only just started to feel better the last couple of days, but still stuck with the chesty infection that doesn't seem to want to go away... just that time of year i guess. Get well soon! :)

I would always wake up with a blocked noise and sore throat, and generally got around 6 hours sleep a night because of this.. But the last week i havent had any of these, and am sleeping 9 to 10 hours a night no problems.. The reason, i am in gent, belgium..

I think the cause of my problems is the polution in BA !!
