Is State Issued Morenocard About To Replace Intl Cards?

Ok, could have been worse, they replace store branded cards and run alongside normal cc cards, i.e. are not exclusive use.

Launched on April fools days! Am convinced this has been developed since last year.

Now that the details are out, the proposal is far less odious than it first appeared. If you're going to do something like this, this is the better way - undercut your competition and prove your reliability. You will probably see lower prices listed for those with the store-branded cards. Those who value the savings will switch over, while those who value the convenience of their exisiting cards aren't punished.

We'll have to see how it all rolls out, but this has to have been in the works for some time, or it willbe a huge technical flop come Apr 1.

I was checking opinions on other forums and comments from followers of the current government, and I have to say that I fail to understand how anyone sees this as move to benefit the low-class. I mean, let's take a look.

Right now the banks have a multimillion-business with supermarkets. Reducing that from 3% to 1% is of course.. a good business to the supermarket. They are going to be paying less in commissions. I mean, a month ago I was reading that "them" were the ones causing the inflation. "Oligarcas", "Businessmen who are ruining the country raising prices above inflation", "they are making a profit with our need to eat". Now, they are the good guys that need to pay less to the bank?? It's hard to keep their pace.

Are they seriously thinking that the profit the supermarket is going to have.. is going to go to the end-user? Yeah.. supermarkets are a non-profit organization, they will pay less to the bank to reduce prices. Well, besides this, that should be a serious idea on how the government needs money. They are desperate.. okay, let's check out the card. They are giving out a interest rate of 22% annual.. really? That's the best they can do for the middle-lower class? They are doubling the official inflation. If everyone is offering 44% and you give 22%, of course is a good deal if you compare both of them, but that doesn't make it a good one. If they were offering 44% and credit cards 70%, would still be a great option? A credit card is THE tool of the capitalist-devil, but it seems that if a friendly government issues one.. is a socialist card for the poor.

Giving the fact that this will be used to pay for food, I don't see how this rate is something to be proud of. If the intention was to help the poor and the ones in need, it should have a really low interest rate. But no.. it has a real high interest because the idea is to make a profit, put the hand in the pocket of yet another cashbox and try to see if this somehow fixes something.

This is the country were stating the obvious gives you an anti-k posture.

If the're charging 22% interest, they won't be making a profit - far from it.

1) It will be run by highly paid bureaucrats and other cronies, like party members retarded cousins, etc. It will lose money on this basis alone.
2) There will be a high default rate because many of the people applying for this card will be poor credit risks.

This will be another money losing bureaucratic quagmire which will worsen the already fragile government finances.

It will make a profit for the government cronies and that's the main thing!

Isn't one of the requirements to present recibos de sueldo? Then it definitely isn't a card for the lower class.

I thought anyone could get it as long as they provided DNI and bill in their name. Is that not correct?

Talking to a IT expert believes that issuing a Morenocard by the supermarkets merging all their existing cards into a new one, would require a Significant amount of time!! Ready by next monday.....jajjajajaja

Plus a copy of the paycheck!! this leaves out all nonresidents, all workers en Negro, all the unemployed, all those that rent furnished and all services are paid by landlord, etc.

There are times when I feel I'm in a weird pantomime and it's time to call 'curtains!'.

This pretty much summarizes Argentine governance.
