The new Global Entry System is being deployed at major US airports. Flight attendants will no longer hand out the I94 Immigration Arrival Forms during flights originating abroad. American Citizens will have the option to enroll in the Global Entry System which will enable them to scan their passports at airport kiosks and bypass the immigration officer stations.
In addition to applying online for the Global Entry System, US Citizens will be required to pay $100 and be interviewed at one of the Global Entry Enrollment Centers.
Waiting on line for the Immigration Officer to inspect my passport has been annoying, especially after an overnight flight, but even if a passenger bypasses this station the next stop is to wait for baggage to arrive.
I guess if you haven't checked bags its a good deal but I'm wondering if its worth it for most of us who check bags and will have to schedule interviews on one of our trips to the USA? Maybe it depends on how often you fly into the USA.
