It's Too Expensive Here!

I might consider selling my 150m2, four bedroom home with an attached 75 mtr2 quincho under construction and an outbuilding that can be converted to a 110 m2 guest house and move here to live...

...if it was not for the fact that the reasonable selling price for my house and the outbuilding on a heavily forested lot of approximately 3000 mtr2 is $180,000 USD...and the finca with a three bedroom 177 mtr2 house and a 2 bedroom cabin near Medina Sidonia is priced at 420,000 euros.

If I do sell my house (above) I'll move about 60 meters to the east.

PS: The finca in Medina Sidonia has a lot size of 13000 mtrs2 but I know from experience that 3000 meters is plenty and the additional 10,000 meters require significant, time consuming maintenance.

We own our property in Jerez de la Frontera - rental per week in high season (Semana Santa - end August) is approx. 1800 to 2500 euros per week for a well appointed 3+ bedroom property plus pool. Most rentals are to UK, Swedish and other EU countries. Our friends in San Lucar de Barrameda and Chiclana also rent out for higher prices per week as they are coastal and very popular with N Spanish tourists. The prettiest pueblos blancos also have a good rental market - can´t believe the top list that Steve posted didn´t include Medina Sidonia where our friends have a 3 acre finca with stunning views. If we didn´t have very active kids who need a garden and a pool I´d be living here...https://www.kyero.com/en/property/4094061-town-house-for-sale-medina-sidonia

In Andalucia, Spain there are cave houses. They might make an interesting Airbnb/investment.

What is Cadiz like? You say Cadiz is cheaper than BA. Real estate is cheaper in Cadiz? Could you give us some examples?

For some property prices here are the listings of one local inmobiliaria. http://www.inmohispania.com/index.php I put in a filter of 60k to 160k euros and there are pages of them for the old city part of Cadiz, which is where I live. Its a vibrant city with friendly people and a great atmosphere. The beaches are tremendous and communications are good. I'm going to be very happy spending 6 months a year here, but not sure if I'd want to live here without spending time away, but that could apply to most places with me.
