Laptop Needed ASAP!

by the way, I know the idea sounds insane, that's why I am wondering if I feel for something stupid or if it's a useful tactic :)

Myth....

The tried and true method is to place the electronic component in a bag or jar filled with rice. The rice draws the moisture out within a day or two. I usually leave things for a minimum 48 hours. Better to be safe than sorry.

Have used a hair dryer. Worked for me. Do not let that temp get too high. Did the coffee have sugar? Try cleaning with alcohol. Good luck

that sounds even stranger than my idea :) I never would have guessed that, thanks!

Go and see Ricardo (member name notebook.fix ) - he's an Australian Argentine who specialises in laptop repairs and I thoroughly recommend him (I only know him because of some work he did for me) I found him to be trustworthy and knowledgeable. Maybe he could help you before you splurge on a new computer, you can read many other recommendations for him on this forum.

Suerte.

I have an 3 1/2+ year old ThinkPad. The keyboard has tiny drainage wholes so that spilled liquid flows right through. I'd like to say that I'm smarting that you for buying this computer, but really I didn't know that it even had this feature until well over a year over purchasing it. So I'll just say that I'm smarter than you because I've been smart enough to avoid even having to see if this feature works.

I have a question. Is it a myth or is it true? I have heard that if your phone, MP3, computer, or whatever gets wet you can put it in the oven at 100F and it will dry it out. Anybody ever tried that to know if it works? I had the same problem with an MP3 player one time and I did it and it worked but I don't know if I was just lucky or if it was actually effective.

this must be a joke. who would put electronic appliances in an oven

wtf
