I'm heading back to motherland for a bit at the end of the month, just wanted to know other peoples experiences with taking money out. Foolishly I haven't been following the drama... Where is the best place to exchange (is the airport still an option), and how easy have people found it (as a foreign expat) to take money out.

Change any and all pesos you have into dollars (or whatever your homeland currency is) as outside of Argentina, no one wants or will exchange pesos, and it is the equivalent of basically having a ¨store credit¨ to Argentina.

I suspect now even more so as Argentina is progressively cutting off any positive ties to most major first-world establishments such as the EU and the US.

Legally, you can travel with up to $10,000 USD in cash. It is an international airport law, and Argentina is SUPPOSED to abide by it. I would be cautious of where you place it though.
