Local Presidential Debate. Leading Candidate Is A No Show.

Bradly, I'd agree with you w.r.t. that I don't think both are 'angels', but in my opinion it makes a difference if you are a ) against a nationalization and b ) against reverting an already nationalized company back to be private... My personal opinion in Argentine politics: everyone tells you what voters want to hear - it's just a slight difference in terms of how far from the reality their fairytales are.

Cristina lovers take note... Today at 6pm is another Cadena Nacional this will be 44th  !!!

I am not sure how reliable Wikipedia is, but it says that Cadena Nacionals are for "exceptional circumstances" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cadena_nacional

Naturally Wikipedia fails to mention that the woman has abused this system for so long now that it's become a fact of life.
Here's hoping she'll pack up the mic until she leaves, but I'm not betting on it.

I think she plans to go right on with them even after December 10.

By the way, toongeorges, Wikipedia is not reliable. But that's another topic for another day. But it is correct in the case that you are quoting.

Unfortunately, despite the fact that she is breaking the law by abusing the Cadena Nacional, from a practical point of view, there's no way to stop her.

On the positive side, almost nobody watches her, and every time she uses the Cadena Nacional, the majority get angrier and her party loses votes.

Personally, I wish that she'd use it every day from now until November 22.

She is not breaking the law, and the Wikipedia article is actually incorrect. Article 75 of Law 26,522 states:

Artículo 75 - Cadena nacional o provincial. El Poder Ejecutivo nacional y los poderes ejecutivos provinciales podrán, en situaciones graves, excepcionales o de trascendencia institucional, disponer la integración de la cadena de radiodifusión nacional o provincial, según el caso, que será obligatoria para todos los licenciatarios.

So, the Executive Branch -- that is, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner -- can, "in situations of grave, excepcional or institutional importance," use the cadena nacional. It's not just for "exceptional circumstances." So, how do you define "institutional importance"? Ask the Executive Branch.

I think she plans to go right on with them even after December 10.
By what right would she be able to do that Amigo? She will be just another citizen then, like you or me, except a little richer.Ain't going to happen.
By the way, we had this out with Bajo_Cero and his reply was....because she can...which is probably about right.

Its all about interpretation of the laws and the ability or will to enforce them. CFK does just enough i guess by talking about a new factory (or a kiosk) that has opened thanks to the incredible governments policies which benefit all argentines to allow a dig at the opposition, neoliberal system the US and UK..

On the nationalization of YPF,Aerolineas etc.I agree with thorsten re: Macri's stance. What are you going to do with such accomplished facts,no matter how badly and outrageously close to theft they were done? You accept them and go from there Massa is playing his "King Maker " card really hard calling for no austerity from Macri and a hard line on crime from Scioli. He has mentioned the "A" word -austerity.Hmm. Most Argentine middle and high income groups don't want to hear that word. The lower income sector already know all about it especially with the 30% inflation tax which they bear the brunt of. ·" No pain,no gain"?. Does Massa mean, "Gain and no pain" ? Can that work?

The lower income sector bear the brunt of 30% inflation? Where did you get that idea?
Inflation isn't selective, it affects us all.
I really don't think things could get more austere if you ask me, with the above mentioned inflation, having to go crawling on your knees as if it were a crime just to get some effing USD to go on holiday with, not being able to have a pair of socks sent to you from your Mum, having to ask permission to import and even export and generally taking it up the rear end at every turn whilst the regime wallows in arrogance all the while.
Isn't that austere enough?

She works to her own set of rules, obviously.
