Hello all

currently i am living in China,i have small workshop here about electronic product manufacture,i am wondering if open small workshop in Argentina then can i get citizenship like in 6-8 month?

Best Regards

I'm no expert but I think the correct procedure will be to obtain permanent residency status then after a period of time has elapsed you can apply for citizenship. Last time I looked into it that was four years. Almost ten years of living here I have no real desire to apply for citizenship so haven't followed it up.

Not true, Mc Kenna Sir!

And please dont spread such mis-information on the internet.

Yes certain accusations are best kept to oneself.

I never thought it would be possible to get a full driving license here without learning to drive and passing a skills test first....until I met someone who said ''not a problem''. And I didn't even have to give them a backhander. :D

Neither temporary or permanent residency (granted by migraciones) are required to become a citizen, though at least one company that "helps" foreigners obtain residency for (what I consider) a relatively high fee still has this information on their website:

For Permanent Residents
Unlike many other nations, obtaining citizenship in Argentina is relatively straightforward. The first step is to obtain your visa, which will allow you to live in the country for one year on a temporary residence permit. When the year has expired, the visa can be extended for an additional year. At the end of the second year, the visa can be extended again for another year. At the end of the third year, you can extend the visa again and receive permanent residency. At this point you will be legally entitled to reside in the Argentina permanently. Two years after receiving your permanent residency, you may apply for citizenship.
What is necessary?
You should speak fluent Spanish, know some general Argentine culture and politics to discuss in an interview, have been living in Argentina most of the time during those previous 2 years as a permanent resident, and have produced income / worked in Argentina and paid taxes in Argentina.

There is presently a two year residency requirement to obtain Argentine citizenship and the two year period begins the first day you set foot on Argentine soil. A constant physical presence in Argentina during the two years may not be required and it may be possible to start the process one year after arrival, but the chances of success without a good lawyer might be small...if there is any chance at all.

Based on posts I've read in the forum it looks like Dr Rubilar (bajo_cero2)has has a great deal of success in obtaining citizenship for foreigners without residency (no DNI) and has been the trailblazer in doing so.

The conditions for citizenship above seem pretty harsh to meet?? B)

The five "conditions" from th ARCA website are about as accurate as the time line they provide for citizenship.

1.Fluent Spanish is NOT a requirement.

2. Asado is bar-be-que.. Argentina is better than the USA because Argentina ended slavery in 1840 without a civil war. Socialism is superior to Capitalism.

3. Complete nonsense.

4. Also complete nonsense

5, Almost complete nonsense. It is not necessary to have worked in Argentina or paid any income tax in Argentina. Social security income from the USA would be considered an "honest" means of living and in some cases, the monthly income level is too low to be taxed in either the USA or Argentina.

That being said, its virtually impossible not to pay some IVA tax in Argentina, though it's possible to pay less IVA by purchasing used goods (up to a certain limit) on venues like Mercado Libre and OLX.

I cannot opinion regarding ARCA.

Steve, slavery was abolished in 1813 while torture in 1810.

We have full civil rights for foreigners since 1810.
