Hey all,

I’m Frederic, I’m coming to Buenos Aires for 1.5 months starting March 16. I’ll be working remotely and visiting my partner who lives there. I would love to make some friends while I’m there. I saw there are some social hangouts posted on this forum, I’ll try and join some of those.

If there are any tips for making friends other places around the city, would love to hear those. I don’t speak much Spanish, but will hopefully improve while I’m there.

A bit about me: I’m a queer artist and software engineer living in Berlin, originally grew up in the USA, but that hasn’t been „home“ for a while. I can be a bit shy at first, not always, but usually get comfortable with people quickly.

Things I like to do, which we could do together if you want to hang out with me:
- bouldering, hiking, swimming, other outdoorsy stuff
- weekend trips around Argentina
- making art together, music, collage, clothing, anything really
- wine tasting or just drinking
- techno? (If it’s good)
- coding, coworking
- shopping, markets, galleries
- probably anything else too

Hope to meet some of you soon <3

Make sure to watch Agustinas videos at dreamingspanish.com , she is a native Porteña and has videos from super beginner to advanced. The Argentine accent is very different from Mexico or Spain etc, so better to practice with what you'll actually be hearing. Getting just some basic Spanish skills will be a big boost for you and make your stay much more enjoyable.

Attend our Tuesday meeting at 4:30 at Velvet in Palermo. You need to say you are coming at the post made Tuesday morning on this website. There are also many other expat groups as well as groups with Argentines that know English...pm me for those ideas.

there is a gigantic queer art/fashion/music scene here.
lots of curators, artists, performers, clubs, bands, and more.
At the Pride day, there are usually a million people. Literally.
There is some techno here, but argentines mostly listen to Argentine music, djs, and bands.

There is an expats/digital nomads/visitors LGBT WhatsApp group for meeting people, message me and I will share the link.
