Monger - Sex Tourism In Argentina Documentary Premiere

But remember...it's all fiction. At least, that's what one of the subjects of the documentary movie will tell you.

Been awhile since I've visited the forum. Howdy folks.

I had to make a few comments on this topic.

First, I'm not a monger. I have no problem with mongers in general, though I have known some real jerks. But I've also known some really good people who are mongers. My first partner when I came down here 11 years ago was a monger (he has since returned to the US) and I know many, many mongers here as a result of my first partner coming down here with me. I have two partners currently who are mongers and live here permanently (they are not sex tourists).

Second, prostitution is legal here in Argentina for those who don't realize it. As some have commented, it is not legal to have a pimp, but whether that is a good thing or not depends on whether or not you think a person has a right to contract with someone else to help them promote their business. It is definitely a bad thing if the pimp abuses and controls the prostitutes he (or she) deals with, but that is nowhere the norm here in Argentina.

I know the guy that was in the photo of the Clarin article (at least the one I saw a couple of days ago). I haven't seen the movie, but I know the particular guy very well and while he may be portrayed as a "pimp" he's not your classic pimp that you all are probably imagining. In fact, he actually helps put tourists together with prostitutes and takes a cut, but he is not a guy who goes around and hits his "b___s" if they get out of line, keeps them sequestered until someone wants their services, and so on.

I mention the pimp bit because that's what the Clarin article called him. They used the word "proxeneta", which on Google translates to "procurer", which I might agree with, if the Spanish definition for the word weren't "Persona que induce a otra a ejercer la prostitución y se beneficia de las ganancias económicas que se obtienen de esta actividad."

My acquaintance does NOT "induce" anyone to prostitute themselves. He takes a commission for referrals (although he denies this for the greater part, I know otherwise) from prostitutes he knows, as do many other people I have known in my life for other businesses who promote other businesses. And I must say that some of those women don't exactly need someone to front for them, but are throwing business this guy's way in sympathy.

Third, the Clarin article took the sex tourist bit pretty far and I only remember the US and one guy from the UK mentioned (I happen to know the guy from the UK as well, and it was nowhere as sordid as the Clarin article made it out to be. That guy married the woman, she turned out to be a complete nut case, and he wanted his kid to grow up out of the influence of a nutcase).

The fact is, people from all over the world come here! India, all of Europe, the US, other Latin American countries.

And the thing not really shown in the Clarin article: There are far, far, far more Argentine men who visit the very same prostitutes on a regular basis. I don't know if the film mentions that at all. In fact, the sex tourists are usually charged much more than the locals. Argentine men visits "privados" on their lunch hour, go to bars (many closed down by Cristina) at night to have drinks and leave with women, and so on. And the funny thing - the greater majority of prostitutes I've talked to don't like Argentinos because they don't treat them all that well. They prefer foreigners because they pay well and mostly treat the women well (I don't know aobut transvestites - there's a big business for that here but I don't know anyone who has that proclivity).

Anyway, just some real background information on mongering here in Argentina from someone who has heard his friends talk about it for 11 years. I've also become friends with a few prostitutes. While I would never say that there is no one being captured and enslaved for sex slaves (hell, it happens in the US) it is NOT the norm here and the women, while they may wish they could do other jobs, consciously entered this line of work because it pays far, far better than ANY OTHER JOB they could find here, even jobs that require years of college.

Not true. Many women work in sex industry to pay their rent or support their kids without a father.
And many women work for drug lords selling drugs to pay their rent and support their children.

Many women extort people or rob them at gun point to pay their rent and support their children.

Hire a prostitute! You'll be supporting a good cause.

You are woefully ignorant, or you are lying. Most of the women here have been forced into prostitution.

It's important to understand: almost no one does prostitution for fun. No woman got up in the morning and said, "I'd like to be prostitute one day!" They do it because a) they are forced into it (the vast majority in Argentina), and they have no other choice monetarily. Mostly A.

Wake up.

Some do get into it because they will make a lot of money. Most of the time they end up getting abused by a pimp. Using people for sex is evil. Prostitution is evil. Pornography is evil. People are not machines, sex machines, or toys. They are human beings for crying out loud, and sexuality is meant to be shared between two people who are in love, not sold on the street to the highest bidder. Or do you think we are just animals?

Think about if your mother made a living every day by letting 50 guys crawl on top of her. Not a pretty image is it? That's somebody else's mother, sister, daughter, being abused over and over for money. That's someone destroying their own soul, or being destroyed, every day.

What happened to your humanity? This goes for everyone else posting in favor of prostitution, too.

Stop preaching on the forum. Go and adopt all the postitutes on the planet and give them yr money for paying their bills.

Sex is sinful even For Married Couples. (bet you didn`t you know that .... yet very true!!!!)

Here is the true teaching of Jesus: ..... He said those who are worthy to inherit the world to come neither marry or are given in marriage .... in other words only celibates or virgins are worthy.

God told Adam and Eve to multiply, primarily to procreate, ...... not to go have an orgy.

I don`t know what the teachings say about those who "master their own domain". We must seek counsel of scholars of moral authorities .

Sex is a perpetrated act of undesirable unwanted physical violence (by both the John`s and the Jane`s .... BOTH SIDES .... BOTH SIDES ), it is child abuse, addiction, slavery, drugs and hormones etc etc ...

The point I`m trying to make here is that:
Sex is inhuman..
Remember that as humans ...... 'in sin were we born'.... So every time we do the nasty, we should pray, repent, fast for couple of weeks, ask for forgiveness, adopt one or two, ..... etc !

These are the facts and the truth, ... or am I missing something?

As long as there's a demand (from men), prostitution will exist.

I'll stop preaching on this forum when you grow a pair and quit paying for prostitution. Ironically, it's you who started preaching the benefits of taking advantage of women first. There's no reason the normal rational people on this forum should have to put up with this nonsense. Sorry, from where I come from, we actually defend women, not argue about how it's to everyone's benefit to use their bodies as a sex doll.
