Mujeres Con Pelotas The Film

Hi, yes, this is my documentary (co-directed with Gabriel Balanovsky). Today we had a good showing even though there was a strike (almost full house!) which surprised us. Reception has been good, the female players get very emotional, and the film talks about how women can play hockey but not football. The tone is upbeat and focuses on the importance of fighting, not being a victim.
The last showing in BAFICI (with English subtitles!) is this Sunday at 14:45hs.
Here is an article about the premier in English: http://filminginargentina.wordpress.com/2014/04/10/goals-for-girls/
and we have a very active facebook in Spanish: http://www.facebook.com/mujeresconpelotas
Hope to see you there!

I don't care for soccer, but I do like the title (and BAFICI).

BAFICI is the Buenos Aires Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente
The main place for films is the Recoleta Village, the festival takes places until Sunday. There are more than 500 films of all types:
http://festivales.bu.../bafici/en/home
Tickets are 26 pesos, and films do sell out, especially on weekends.
BTW, the website is pretty confusing, but if you click on search function and type "mujeres con pelotas" it gives you the options with a few more clicks to buy. Right now it is on "yellow" meaning that there are still tix but not a lot.

never mind, too complicated...

Film sounds interesting, price no issue, but ordering through that maldito website just isn't worth the hassle.

Thanks for the courtesy of your reply, and best wishes for success :)

Montauk, you've been very nice, and I'm genuinely impressed with what you do, so I don't want to seem like a jerk but..

I got that far, it's the part where you have to register in order to login, and you must login to buy tickets. And the registration asks for a bunch of info I should not have to give just to buy tickets. So I'll try the box office. Now, where is this place?

I understand, the BAFICI is a great festival in terms of film but not the best organization.
The theater is the Village Recoleta, located in the Recoleta Mall:
Vicente López 2050, right next to the cemetery.

Montauk: First of all let me say I watched the trailer and it looks like a nice piece of work! I don't know anything about the film production business, so I wonder whether you can produce such documentaries without any public fundings, just based on ticket revenue? Given that a ticket is just 26 pesos and I guess the cinema takes a good part of the cut, you'd need so many viewers to pay for a production like this. Also, do you - as a smaller film maker - have a way to sell it online, similar to movies are sold x month after they have been premiered in the cinema? Are there like websites where one can buy independent movies and the producers get most of the revenue? Obviously feel free to decline to answer if you don't want to make these kinds of information public, I'm just curious.
