Obamacare: Do Expats Need To Buy Health Insurance?

2. that you wrote "so not sure who your comment is thrown at." - why would you think it was at you?

ahh, only because you wrote it in reply to my comment. So MR BAexpat debater just an FYI experienced forum posters don't write a reply to someone and then claim it was in fact NOT a reply directed at that the person replied to. That is nonsensical garbage.

I suggest you take your own cheap advice and stick that rationale where the sun don't shine.

Indiana Republican Congressman Marlin Stutzman sums up the "thinking" behind his party's government shutdown: “We’re not going to be disrespected. We have to get something out of this. And I don’t know what that even is.”[/background]

And yet, it takes only a brief trip down memory lane to find.....this:

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a Sign that the US Government cannot pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. ...Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that 'the buck stops here'. Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and Grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better."

-Senator Barack Obama, March 2006

And, during his presidency, the deficit has been reduced by roughly half.

Thanks Wikipedia.

The point is twofold: Obama as a senator didn't work with other Dems to shutdown the government because they didn't like
the Iraq War. Secondly, this isn't even about spending, it's about the AFCA/Obamacare, which EVERYONE, GOP or Dem
admits.

This isn't 2011. It's what? the 43rd time they're trying to repeal a law that they know won't be repealed? You have to be a
special kind of stupid to think voting to repeal/defund Obamacare is firstly going to make it through the Senate, and then
somehow, not get vetoed.

That special kind of stupid is the 80 or so GOPTea Congresspersons from backwater districts, the South, Texas, Florida, and
flyover states.

God help us...

You are funny.

In 2009 he first raises the deficit from $500 billion to 1.4 trillion. It stays at $1 trillion+ for 2010, 2011 and 2012. He than brings is back to $500 billion.....and now he is a hero!!!!!
A Kichnerista could not have done better.

I have a feeling that you overlook the war expenditure, which to date has been app 4,000,000,000,000 US$ of which the present administration has had to shoulder a considerable share.

Until they recognize that demographics have overtaken them, most Republicans will be not part of the reality-based community. A handful of pragmatists have done so, but they have little influence as yet.

In about a quarter of Democratic districts, 18 percent or more of all households received food stamps. That was true in just 6 percent of Republican districts.
