Organic Coop Market - Weds & Sats In The Am

El Galpon, in Chacarita, by Federico Lacroze station, sells organic vegetables and products. They are a coop and support small producers which adds some fair trade. The bicisenda on Gorriti brings you pretty close, if you are in Palermo.

There's a really small place on Cordoba and Dorrego (on Dorrego, just past the petrol station) which on Friday and Saturdays sells a small selection of organic veg, yoghurt and some pre-made stuff. I like the vegetables at El Galpon but was not overly-impressed by the dairy selection and, after buying the eggs there, I remain suspicious they were actually free-range. I go to the place on Dorrego specifically for their free-range eggs (which are the best I've found and really fresh). Theres also a place in Palermo on Bonpland 1660 (its only open certain days) and the veg there was great.
