I copied and pasted this into a word doc and it was 57 pages, but all of the information was doubled and there was a lot of spacing. Well, its not true Organic, but if you havent been, you should definitely take the A subte to Primera Junta, and visit the Mercado del Progreso, one of the last old style markets left in BsAs.
There are produce stands, meat markets, and lots more. In fact, there are a bunch more specialty food shops all around the neighborhood.
Its a bit like the Pike Place Market in Seattle.
There used to be one of these in every neighborhood in BsAs- the San Telmo market, now antiques and knickknacks, was like this too.
Abasto Mall was the big, wholesale version.
There is another, more upscale one in Recoleta, more like a Whole Foods- but not as organic and trendy.
And I think there is something similar in Belgrano as well- I have been meaning to go check it out.

But Caballito is a very classic, non-tourist neighborhood, and its really fun to go food shopping there.

Thanks to all of you for posting about organics. I am a new comer (as far as living full time) and just signed on to TallaVerde before I saw all these posts. Have not ordered yet. Plus these seem to be old posts. But I appreciate them.

One more thing (off subject). In Montevideo (where I normally live) I belong to a great expat group. It is laid back, informal, includes all ages from people bringing their little kids to 70 plus expats like me. The group meets at the same restaurant for just friendliness and conversation, sometimes people hold Spanish speaking meetings separately (for learners) or parties. It´s great. Is there anything anywhere near that description here? I live in Palermo Alto but will travel a bit. Thanks
