In a moment of sincerity that would have made more than one member of the government blush with anger, the United States ambassador to Argentina, Marc Stanley, praised the figure of Cristina Kirchner over that of Javier Milei . The outgoing official described the former president as a woman who “will go down in history” as “one of the most influential” in the region, and only said of the current President that he is a person “who wants to align himself” with Washington.
“It is very controversial of me to say it” but Cristina Kirchner “still dominates the news” and “I enjoyed” the meetings with her, acknowledged the diplomat who in a few days will be replaced by Peter Lamelas, the man appointed by Donald Trump to polish relations between the White and Pink Houses.
Contrary to what might be expected from the ambassador of a country with which Javier Milei's government has an undeniable commitment, Stanley was full of praise for the former Peronist president and was less generous with the liberal-libertarian .
He praised CFK's capacity for "civilized" dialogue and even publicly thanked her for having met with him three times. "She will go down in history as one of the most influential women in the history of Latin America, whether people like it or not, that is the truth ," he said during an interview with Infobae.
Laughing so very hard over here
