Phelps 18 gold - Argentina 17 gold

Source?

And (if you provide a source) why does your single piece of evidence automatically prove something, while all mine apparently did not?

Argentina spend 226.000.000 peso this year on London 2012, or around 40 milion euro = Result 1 bronce so far(and silver or Gold)

Holland spend 40.000.000 euros this year on London 2012 = Result 5 gold medals, 15 medals so far(with probally another 4 medals coming)

I will rest my case :)

There you go :)

Argie source: Infobae, Dutch source: NOC-NSF

As I thought.

Infobae was given as the source TWICE, and yet someone who claimed to be "done with this thread" continued to post AND ask a question that had been answered.

There's the source AGAIN.

Tennis received the least funding, because all of the support comes from the families, and yet that sport has the best showing. But in 2 years, no sports are going to show improvement. That doesn't mean that the Olympic funding won't lead to continued syphoning & failure, but failing after 2 years doesn't mean much.

If the syphoning off of funds isn't too horrible, 2016 is when better results will start to materialize.

If they cut off half the sports or athletes who have zero chance of winning Anything there is more money left for the contenters. That Will most likely lead to better results for 2016

Thank you, that's all I was after.

And the Holland source?

Though I'm still wondering, why is this evidence "proof" that funding doesn't help, yet all the other examples I posted not proof that it does?

And is there more instances of it helping than not, or the other way around?

And what would the performance of the Argie team be like if there was no funding? Or much less funding?

And yes, another question to ask.

NOC - NSF, do you always want anything to repeated 3 times? I probally can´t do a 4rd

Likely to get 2 medals. Leonas and Delpo and maybe Basketball men as well. Don´t think they are getting a lot of funding from Argentine state, so they funded 226.000.000 peso for 0 medals
