The measure reaches 4 and 5 star hotels, shopping centers, spaces with capacity for more than three hundred people, "boliches" and all types of shops where drinks are sold.
"Arcos Dorados" is the largest McDonald's franchise and who operates in Argentina delivering a large amount of plastic straws to customers. Its director of Social Commitment and Sustainable Development, Gabriel Serber, commented on the measure: "This is a clear example of how we can take advantage of the size of our brand."
He added: “The responsibility assumed with the environment is part of our values as a company and we will continue to develop it; while we seek to convey a message that transcends our restaurants. With this type of initiatives we teach millions of people the importance of small habits friendly to the planet, so that we are all part of the solution ”.
