Possible Solution to Dollars Crunch???

Sold euros last week at 8 pesos per euro.

I have Euros on my bank account which I currently take out from the ATM in pesos at the official rate. Any idea if I can actually get my Euros in Euro bills somewhere? Colonia? Would give me a lot more bang for my buck apparently

Well, if your account is in Euros, you likely can't use Xoom (if I'm right) since it's not US based.

But indeed it's very likely you can withdraw USDs from ATMs in Colonia (go a tuesday, or if you go a monday, the first ATMs to be refilled with USDs after the weekend are the "Bank Discount" ones).

Or open an Uruguay multicurrency bank account and you can get Euros, but that might bring you problems in your home country to do bank wires to Uruguay.
