You can say what you want about Lanata and play the politics of el Grupo Clain, how they used to be pro-K, how Lanata used to be anti-Clarin etc etc, but at the end of the day he and them are keeping honest (for whatever motives) a lying, thieving, corrupt government. Imagine where this country would be without them, what the media would look like? (*shudder*).
Take a step back from what him, Tn and rest of Grupo Clarin media sources have presented the last few weeks and ask yourself which side is more believable, given the massive increases in assets of all the Ks over the last 10 years or so, people like Baez who has all of a sudden gone from working in a bank to having a monopoly over the entire construction/public works market in a province (and who admittedly, even by the Ks is a friend of Nestor and the Kirchners). Guys like Fariña (ex compañero of a Partner in my office) who all of a sudden is a multi-millionaire and are clearly connected with Baez/Kirchners.
What do I truly believe? They're all corrupt, and one shouldn't be placed on a pedestal. Lanata and Grupo Clarín may be keeping the government "honest," but the reality is that they themselves haven't been honest either. Why is that so many on this forum consider Lanata "el dueño de la verdad?" And if Lanata and Grupo Clarín can keep the government honest, why is it that 678's or Duro De Domar's attempt to do the same is discounted entirely?
Lanata says that Boudou went to Caramelo on a Friday with two big bags for a few hours and came back. No one even questions it. But when 678 shows that Boudou was actually welcoming Lula at some ceremony at the same time that Lanata implied he was laundering money in Caramelo, it's automatically considered some piece of government propaganda.
Really?
I don't think I need to say that corruption is a problem in this country. Lanata's hidden camera interview with Fariña is the most damning evidence of all that there is corruption, and all of this should be investigated. But all corruption should be investigated. Wouldn't you agree?
Here's an experiment for the forum. Google "baexpats.org fariña" or "baexpats.org báez". Take a look at the results. Quite a few, yeah? Do the same for "baexpats.org arbizu" or "baexpats.org hernan arbizu."
You're probably asking yourselves: Who is Hernán Arbizu? Evidently, the dueños de la verdad have never told you, and they have no interest in you finding out either.
