Redistribution of Wealth At Gunpoint Is Tyranny

I'm still trying to master myself the art of getting my point across the double entendres and codification of newspeak. In any case I've met many less politically correct than yourself, probably wont bear the whip.

Yeah, I'm not really known for getting my point across effectively.

I'm sure sooner or later someone will whip me into a well-mannered, well-spoken gentleman!

I think you are holding your own quite well, sir.

Just keep it up!

These so called libertarians are the ones who love liberty for themselves and strip off the restraints from exploiting whoever they want and the safety nets for the poor, the weak, the young, the old.

90% of the time, Libertarians are just Republicans who reeeeeaaaaaaaallllllly hate paying taxes.

Is this a factual observation our just your opinion?

Just my opinion from having to read supposedly libertarian comments on message boards like this.

Does anyone pay taxes without a legal obligation? Did you pay taxes in your previous life? Were your political opinions primarily driven by the amount of taxes you had to pay (as opposed to other issues that typically drive American politics)?

Edit: It appears you edited your post after I replied. I'll leave my questions because I am curious.

Edit2: Also, I am really just yanking your chain. I have no problem with Libertarians. I've also referred to them as old anarchists. :)

The only reason to pay taxes is because of legal obligations.

My political opinions are based on my philosophy of life. I never had any illusions about how the taxes I paid were spent.

And I don't believe the purpose of government is to provide health care, high speed rail, food stamps, or abortions, just to name a few.

Hmmm, you may be one of the 10% then. :)

Personally, I don't mind paying taxes if the money I pay is responsibly spent. I have no problems paying higher taxes for programs tha benefit the society: healthcare (yes healthcare!), roads, unemployment benefits, etc, etc.

That said, I don't consider either the US or Argentina responsible governments. Those are the two places I've paid most of my taxes.

That's why I have always preferred Europe and hope to be able to return there once I am ready to leave Argentina.

Anyway, just my opinion... I realize there are others.

I never saw your posts but it doesn't make any difference.

You must have really hated your time in Paris then!

And also, I assume you didn't actually talk politics to anyone in San Francisco!

The Obama affordable health care act will not result in either more or cheaper health care.
