Howdy all,

Ok so my girlfriends Dad rented us a cabaña in Patagonia for 2 weeks and paid the full amount up front. After 2 days we told her we wanted to leave early as the cabaña was substandard. There are many things we did not like and took away from the experience. When we tried to talk to her and told her we were leaving early, she said before our sentence was even finished: "You're not getting any money back".

What are the laws and regulations around this kind of arrangement? My girlfriend is from the area and said there is a separate law for Rio Negro but I'm sure this goes to federal level or am I wrong?

Thanks,

Jay

You might see to it that nobody else falls into the same trap by posting a review on one of the travel sites. Word gets around.

Where abouts in Patagonia are you...its a big province... Try the Defensa al Consumidor

Ask for a receipt for payment and when they refuse threaten to report them to AFIP...

Even the most stupid stuff makes the news: http://anbariloche.com.ar/noticia.php?nota=40086

Do you have a link to the site you rented it from..?
