repairing canon printer?

You did well to replace it, Katti. I went through a lot of trouble and expense to get a printer/scanner repaired, only to have it fail again in two weeks. Now I only use it for scanning. AND I buy cartridges one at a time...! Had to throw away the six spare cartridges I had for that one.

Printers have become disposable, like toasters and irons. After the year's warranty is up, many manufacturers turn down requests for repairs saying they don't keep spare parts for old printers.

We bought the same HP about a month ago -- it was 349 -- shame!

When we got it home, I installed one cartridge... then opened the other cartridge pack to put it in... and they had given us 2 color cartridges, no black. So we had t go back to complain, and of course it took ages and a battle but eventually the manager gave us a black cartridge -- for free! A full one, not one of the sample cartridges that come with the printer that can only do like 15 sheets. The cartridge was valued at 75 pesos -- so we really got ours for a steal! -- but I don't understand how in a few weeks can the price change?? jerks...
