Replacing a lost DNI for a foreigner

If you have radicación permanente you do not have to go to migraciones. I replaced my DNI Permanente at the Registro Civil in my neighborhood. I was told that it could take up to between 8 and 12 weeks but to check for it in person in the same office within 10 days. My DNI was ready. So my experience was that it was quick and easy.

I ended up going to the office in Hipolito Yrigoyen, they said would take about a month, so was expecting three months... but it arrived 4 days later..!
