Saddlery or Leather Manufacturer

Hi Guys,

I have just moved to BA and am finding your site so helpful in getting my bearings!

I am posting because I am involved with a small fashion company specialising in leather goods.

Although my main drivers are cost and quality (surprise, surprise)I really love the idea of working with a saddlery and craftsmen as opposed to just a factory.

I was wondering if anyone knew anyone who would fit this bill?

I've been trying to find this out as well - would love to hear what others say! I have found some great boot makers (casa de las botas for instance in Palermo) but not someone who would, for example, make something from leather based on just a design or pattern.

Me too! I want to commission some leather goods, but the outlets and such cant help me.

My friend`s family are leather makers for some generations and have some outlets for retail...I have no idea if they`d be interested in one of designs but I`ll ask tomorrow..they`re great people.

Thanks to all for the tips - just for the future reference of anyone who uses this info in the future - San Juan y Boedo is really cool - BUT:

1) The leather shops start about 4 blocks down Boedo

2) They are not manufacturers more just shop after shop of skin sellers

Murillo street from Av Scalabrini Ortiz towards Juan B Justo has a lot of stores and outlets, it is an area "for Export", but with time and patience you can find what you are looking for.
