Hi Guys,

I am currently seeking any position in Buenos Aires related to my field of work and studies.
I have approximately 5 years experience in the Real Estate industry working initially as a commercial property sales and leasing assistant, and then as a residential and commercial property valuer. I have a Masters degree in 'Property Development' from the University of Technology Sydney and am a 'Certified Practicing Valuer' with the Australian Property Institute (RICS equivalent) in Australia.
If you have any requirement, or know of anyone that might require someone with my skill set, please read on a moment, and help me to stay in this great city.

Some background information:
I am a 30 year old Australian male that has been living and working initially in Buenos Aires for most of 2010, then travelling through South America, and now returned to Buenos Aires to search for a "real" work opportunity.
I was previously teaching Business English to professionals in Accenture and Standard Bank.

I currently live with my South American girlfriend and am looking to stay here in Buenos Aires long term, but, would possibly be willing to relocate to other similar South American locations, for the right position. I have a decent level of Spanish and am continuing Spanish lessons currently.

My education background includes a Masters Degree in Property Development from a leading Australian University, an Advanced Diploma of Property Valuation and a Bachelor Degree in Environmental Sciences.

I have worked as a commercial property sales and leasing assistant, a Residential Property Valuer with two small valuation firms, and as a Commercial Property Valuer with DTZ Australia and CBRE all within the Sydney property market.

I am searching for any associated role; valuer, analyst, development, as my Masters Degree covered many aspects of business and property management including legal issues, financial factors, economics. Not just Property Development specifically.

Thanks for reading and for any help you can offer. I'm going to grab with both hands any opportunity to have a real life here in Buenos Aires...not just eeking out an existence as an (underqualified, hehe) English Teacher.

Muchas Gracias,

Ian

Hi Ian

I too specialise in commercial property + am RICS qualified and looking to make the jump to BA. Did you manage to find any property consultants/principles out there?

Please let me know how you got on!

Regards,

Neil

Perhaps you will have better luck getting it on when you learn the difference between principals and principles...as well as how to spell specialize.

(Sorry, I couldn't resist. I just love English too much.)

not defending principles but specialise is the British spelling (possibly the Australian too)

Fair enough. Thanks, Ashley.

But I still wonder why I love the way Australians speak English (without exception so far and I've been there), but I often intenzely abhor English accents (and I've been there, too).

The rain in Spain...

And I should add that appraising property is an "inside" job in Argentina. While waiting for the sale of my two properties in CF I had independent appraisals of my apartments made by two inmobliarias.

They were both about 25% below the price that Perry got for me.

You can draw your own conclusions.

And if the Argentines think you're from Australia at least they won't be thinking about the Malvinas (or should I spell it F-A-L-K-L-A-N-D-S?) while they're interviewing you for the job.

Haha too funny....and Ashleys right of course, we (aussies) speak British English. Not having the British accent may have been an advantage, but after we kick Argentine butt in the upcoming Rugby mundial, i think things may be different jeje.

Sorry Neil, cant really help out. I had a few bites but all wanted a high level of Spanish and im just not confident with it yet,and for that reason i really havent had a decent look for work. I was scanning the Argie jobsites but unfortunately Steve is correct and the Property Valuation role doesnt really exist and at a Commercial level i get the feeling that the valuations are handled by the related parties, banking managers etc.

I am still sticking around though and tweaking the Spanish so hopefully by next year i will be in a different position and might be able to help you out more, if your not here by then.
