Women had it GOOD in the US in the 50s. Men had (and took) responsibility for providing for and protecting the family and grew up being taught to respect women. We women were on a pedestal then and I never figured out why they wanted to step down (well I did, brainwashing, but are we women really that stupid???) I grew up in Miami, in case you wonder. Women weren't expected to work to support the family, then come home tired to try to be a mother and wife, as they are now. A woman's job in the home was respected. She COULD work outside but really caring for a family properly is a full-time job, which is why it isn't done all that well today. Women just don't have the time or the energy to devote to it.
Women have a terrible situation now, by comparison, in the US. And I don't care how hard you try you are not going to make a woman (homemaker) out of a man. I think trying to do that is the cause of a lot of family problems. God made the man to go out and get the deer and bring it back to feed the family. It kind of defines who he is. You can try to force that square peg into a round hole all you want but it won't work! In the 50s we had about 1 divorce in 50. Today it is almost one in every two. Women had a good life in the 50's. So all you younger people who didn't see the 50s, please don't buy into the lies. Women's situation has gotten worse, not better. Plus we don't have the respect and the awe of our men like we did back then either. It has been a lose-lose for both.
